The Shipyard

@ The Lord Nelson Brentford

The Project

To create a luxurious but multi-functional, relaxed garden that feels like an escape.

The space was used for events and screenings so the practicalities of this had to be considered in terms of running power to the rear of the garden for performances and including cover for the musicians/electrical equipment (in the unreliable British weather) Whilst also maximising covers for Sunday lunch. There was a large Eucalyptus tree in the centre of the garden to work around with large roots that had become a trip hazard. This was solved by designing seating around the tree that worked with the uneven area and made a feature of the tree itself.

The Client

“Elise managed the whole project from concept to styling. She took a real interest into the practicalities of the design and not just the aesthetics. From working with existing planting and structures she was really respectful of our budget and yet still created something beyond what I expected. The garden design created such a buzz in the local area that it significantly increased our turnover. The return on investment has been fantastic”
